Sunglasses & Emraan Hashmi – Bollywood Talk

Emraan Hashmi talking about Sunglasses

Vasujit kalia (VJ) : Where do you generally shop for sunglasses?
Emraan Hashmi (EM): My favourite destination for buying shades is Singapore, Dubai and Mumbai in this order.

VJ: How much do you generally spend on a brand?
EH: I believe that price should not be the limiting factor if the particular shade suits you.I have shades ranging from RS.10,000 upwards.

VJ: Which is your favourite eyewear brand? Name you really want to possess.
EM: I don’t have just one favourite, Some of the brand that I adore are Gucci, Armani, Dior, Prada and Versace. I own Gucci but I would die to get Prada as they signify quality and opulence.

VJ: How many Sunglasses do you currently have?
EH: Although I haven’t counted but I guess anywhere around 15-20.

VJ: Your favourite shape in shades?
EH: If you are an avid follower of my films you must have noticed I wore aviators in crook and really liked them.

VJ: Can you recollect any interesting incident related to your shades?
EH: I was looking for shades at the duty free shop in Mumbai International Airport. Somebody patted me from behind, When I looked back it was my school friend whom I had not met since ages. I think this is an interesting anecdote related to shades as it brought back happy memories for me.

VJ: The basic factors you keep in mind while purchasing sunglasses?
EH: I want to say that brand are very important as they signify both the quality and style.

VJ: Your preference – metal sunglasses or acetate ones?
EH: I generally stick to acetate ones but I do have one or two shades in metal as well.

VJ: Sunglasses generally add to one’s glamour quotient, Do you agree?
EH: Sunglasses definitely make you more appealing and with more innovative designs flooding the markets they spice up the accessory drought in the male wardrobe.

VJ: Do you think that eyewear is an important accessory to change personality as per role demands?
EH: Sunglasses make for a very important piece of accessory at least for the actors. My whole look changed once I wore big sunglasses in the film “Once Upon Time in Mumbai” and when I wore funky shades in the film “ Crook “ I looked flamboyant.

VJ: Have you ever used cosmetic contact lenses for any role?
EH: Yes, I have worn them in few films.

VJ: How do you look after your eyes?
EH: I do agree with you that eyes are very important and I do take care of them. I splash cold water to drive out dirt and when I am very exhausted I close my eyes for some time to give them due rest.

VJ: How often do you changes/upgrade your glares as per fashion dictates or do you stick to one particular brand or a style?
EH: With so many designer sunglasses flooding the market it is difficult to buy the latest trendy shades every now and then, but yes, I do follow the trends and try to pick up stylish Sunglasses as and I spot them.
